School psychologists provide a variety of services for school districts. Some major functions the WACS school psychologist provides are listed below:

  • Consultaion with teachers, professional staff, parents, and community services
  • Assessment, observations, and interpretation of test data and behaviors for referred students
  • Creatation of interventions geared toward emotional, social, behavioral, and academic needs of students
  • Assessment of counseling needs and providing individual or small group counseling of students demonstrating behavior concerns in school setting (i.e. anger management, coping strategies, friendship skills)
  • Provide informational resources and treatment options for childhood disorders to teachers, professional staff, and parents
