Greetings Westfield Families!

Children disagree, argue and occasionally show their displeasure in something by striking out.  While these aren’t necessarily appropriate ways to show anger, they are, inherently, behaviors of children.  This isn’t bullying, but rather, children misbehaving because they act before they think things through.

Bullying, on the other hand, is repeated verbal, physical, social or psychological aggressive behavior by a person or group directed towards a less powerful person or group that is intended to cause harm, distress or fear.  While this is a rarely seen behavior in elementary students, it certainly could occur.

Please contact me, should your child experience either of these situations because we want a safe learning place for everyone!
