• Hello!  My name is Ms. Flegal and I was born and currently live in Jamestown, NY.  I spent my undergrad at JCC before transferring to Kent State University to pursue the field of education--specifically focusing on art.  I lived in Ohio for three years before moving back to New York, and I am eager to share my unique perspective and creative thinking with the kiddos here at Westfield!  I think it is important for students to be well rounded individuals, so I try to incorporate art history, criticism, experimentation, and reflection into most projects we complete.  Whenever possible, I also try to touch on their common core knowledge to make important connections to life outside the art room.

This year, I am pleased to say that I will also be filling the Elementary Computer Lab position!  We are going to focus greatly on computer skills (how to use the mouse, what our coursers mean, keyboarding, safe internet usage, etc.), and then delve into some i-Ready and computer projects.  We've got some of the brightest kiddos I've seen, so I am very excited to see what they can do digitally!

On a side note, your children may have mentioned I was out for a bit last year.  Well, that's because we welcomed our little Luna to the family.  She's getting so big already, and I am anxious to see her grow into a smart and curious child like many of yours!

As for me and my artistic style, I love sculpture and pop art!  The hands on learning experience of sculpting is like no other, so in my spare time I love to create pottery at home.  I also enjoy the outdoors, camping, hiking, and spending time with my growing family.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me at tflegal@wacs2.wnyric.org, ext. 301 or 243, or stop in Room 209 or 118.  Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!
